Procurement Specialist
Responsible for daily procurement of materials, equipment, and services as required for assigned commodities or projects as applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in related field from accredited college, university or institution or equivalent focused experience.
- 1-3 years experience in procurement, expediting, and/or logistics of oilfield equipment.
- Strong understanding of purchasing practices and ethics.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application.
- Functional knowledge of SAP.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Procure material as requested, making applicable independent commercial decisions within established authority limits by utilizing available on-line computer inquiry functions in SAP, and other professional services
- Interface with office and rig personnel re: their requests in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure all items in capital spares inventory are utilized effectively
- Ensure that all purchases of repairs, services and third-party charges comply with company policy and procedures, as well as rig standardization guidelines
- Ensure that all purchases of repairs and services comply with equipment repair standards, as well as Noble’s terms and conditions
- Ensure all warranty terms are appropriate
- Ensure all applicable discounts are taken
- Record repaired capital equipment, services and third-party charges in accordance with policy in the company’s financial records
- Monitor and report to management any vendor deficiencies, to achieve and reinforce a high level of vendor performance
- Conduct vendor assessments in accordance with policies and procedures
- Resolve vendor invoicing and shipment discrepancies through research in SAP inquiry functions and negotiate acceptable commercial resolutions
- Direct vendor reduction efforts to focus purchasing efforts
